Winter Wedding Tips
Make Sure Your Guest Stay Warm
If any part of your wedding is outdoors, make sure that you have adequate heat. Even if part of your ceremony is in a barn or tent you need to make sure everyone stays warm enough to be comfortable. Portable heaters are great to use in outdoor spaces. You may also want to supply hand warmers or blankets or shawls. One other way to help with this is to serve warm drinks when guests are entering or exiting.
Coats and Boots
If guests must walk outside, make sure that they know to bring and wear boots and coats. Also plan to have a coat and boot check. That way guests can wear their large boots and coats without having to worry about tromping around all day in them. Remember to bring coats and boots for yourself too!
Photos
Just because it is cold outside does not mean you cannot take outdoor photos. Just do not plan to take all your photos outside. Plan to get a good mix of both indoor and outdoor photos. Then if the weather turns bad outside, you will not have to produce an entirely new plan.
Plan Theme Around Winter
One of the best ways to embrace a winter wedding is by choosing a theme that works with the season. Use seasonal food that can help warm your guests, think soups. Decorations that hint at the holiday season but are not directly Christmas related work well, think pine trees. Also use ample candlelight to give your wedding that special winter feel.
