Once I realize that the best way to light them is to light one using a flame and then using the lit one to light the next one it was fairly easy. I just dumped all of the boxes out in a big pile and was able to pick up one light it using a lit one and hand out the older one to the children. This was really great. We used a metal bowl in a small fire pit for the kids to throw in when they were finished.
